When you have trouble with the water in your home or business, it may seem like nothing is minor. But there are some minor plumbing repairs that are quite common. Common and minor, but still vitally important!
NEED A PLUMBER FOR A MINOR REPAIR?
As your home or commercial property gets older, you may find you encounter more minor plumbing repairs. Some you can manage yourself. But if the same problems reoccur, it can often be best to get a plumber in to fix them once and for all. Some issues are best left to professional plumbers, even if they seem like minor plumbing repairs.
Clogs
When the water backs up in the shower or the sink, the clog may seem more minor than when it happens in the toilet. Hair is often clogging a sink or shower drain, but toys and shampoo lids have been known to clog things up, too. The fix is often just to use a plunger to loosen the clog with air pressure.
Call us if you can’t remove the clog easily yourself. If the clog keeps coming back, that’s a time to call us, too. We can fix the problem and prevent future clogs without damaging the pipes.
Leaky Faucets
A dripping faucet is a nuisance that isn’t really a plumbing emergency, but the drips waste water. A faucet dripping a drop a second is over 3,000 gallons a year! You could take 180 showers, instead. Dripping faucets are usually caused when the seal on the tap is damaged, so small amounts of water drip from the faucet.
You should try replacing the washer in the tap first. Sometimes, a faucet may require specialty tools, so call us for help.
Water Heaters
Water heater issues start with a nice warm shower that ends up freezing cold. Drips, puddles, discolored water and noise from the water heater are red flags. Most water heater issues require a plumber because of the complexity and danger. To fix water heater issues, start by checking the pilot light if yours is a gas unit. Check the temperature setting because sometimes it gets turned down accidentally. You can drain the tank to flush out sediment if you think mineral deposits are to blame.
Call us if you see water on the floor because the tank is probably leaking. Check the date it was installed, as it may need to be replaced. If you need a minor plumbing repair, contact us for quick, reliable service.
